Tales of Mexico will close the 2017 FIC Monterrey

The Monterrey International Film Festival will close its 13th edition with the screening of the film Tales of Mexico, a project that puts together eight short films directed by Carlos Carrera, Daniel Giménez Cacho, Carlos Bolado, Ernesto Contreras, Alfonso Pineda-Ulloa, Alejandro Valle, Iván Ávila and Natalia Beristáin.

The movie, that will be screened in collaboration with Machete Producciones, serves as a silent witness of the unexpected destiny of its residents. It is a space where human passions are confronted. Eight stories that travel in the memory of time as a metaphor of Mexico’s transformation in the past 100 years. Starring: Irène Jacob, Kaori Momoi, Kristyan Ferrer, Sofía Espinosa, Noé Hernández, Mauricio García Lozano, Paulette Hernández, Dagoberto Gama and Alisarine Ducolomb.

COLLABORATION WITH MONTERREY INTERNATIONAL BALLET GALA
As a previous event of the Monterrey International Ballet Gala, to take place on September 2, the FIC Monterrey will premiere the documentary Anatomy of a male ballet dancer, directed by David Barba and James Pellerito

The film is an intimate portrait of a Brazilian ballet dancer, Marcelo Gomes, considered as the best dance partner of its generation. This film shows us Marcelo’s journey from the heart of the Amazonia to the most important stages in the world.

The screening will take place on August 31 at 19:00 hours in the Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey.
